Moab

We took a little weekend family trip to Moab!

We started off by getting there on Friday, and setting up our trailer... (well my parents trailer that we borrowed)... after we set up camp, we went into downtown Moab and walked around, looking at the little shops....

Then Saturday, we went on a little scenic drive.....

When we got back, it was pretty chilly, but the girls really wanted to go swimming, so Matt took the girls.....

And I stayed back in the trailer, with these two cuties....

That night, we made smores....

Sunday, we woke up and got the trailer all packed up and then went to Arch's National Park and hiked around a little bit!

 The Girls....
 The boys....

A picture of my girls with some new little friends they made at the campground....

What do you do when you are on your way home from Moab and you have two babies that are crying and really want to get out of their seats?!!?

Give them chocolate!!.....

We had such a fun time. Night time was a little (saying sarcastically)... interesting to get these two to go to sleep. I thought I could just make up a bed for them in the trailer, but that didn't work too well. They thought since they weren't locked in a crib, they would have some fun! Peeking at each other, laughing and laying on each other... Needless to say, it didn't work out. Matt had to take them on a drive to get them to sleep, then we put Drew in the pack-n-play, and had Sophie in a made up bed with suitcases all around her.

We know what we would do different next time! Bring 2 pack-n-plays!!!

Fun time, but glad to be home!!

Easter 2012

We had such a fun Easter time! It was pretty relaxed, not too much running around! We started off by decorating Easter eggs.....

We had some fun Easter egg hunts with cousins....

Then of course Easter Sunday, the Easter bunny came, and they all looked so cute in their new Easter clothes... then we went over to the Hood side of the family and had dinner and a little egg hunt there as well!

I think it is safe to say, the kids got plenty of candy from all their egg hunts and I have probably gained 5 pounds from eating it all!

Help, I'm Stuck!

This is what we found yesterday....
Sophie had climbed underneath her saucer and stood up, she then proceeded to stick her arm through one of the leg holes, getting stuck.
I know, I know... yes I grabbed the camera before I helped her, but I couldn't help it, it was so funny!!

Science Fair

While we were off track in February, Makenna started working on her science fair project.
She named her project... "Cookie Dough Dilemma"
She started by making a batch of cookie dough and putting it in the fridge for 2 days. When those two days were up, she made cookies from that dough.
She then made a fresh batch of dough and cooked them right away. We then had volunteers come over and try both cookies and fill out a questionnaire about what cookie they liked better and any taste difference between the two!
Then just last week, she got all the information from her project together and made a board.
They had the science fair. Out of her class of 23 kids, 5 were picked to be judged by the district, where then 2 from the class go on to the district science fair.
Well she was one of the top 5! I was so proud of her to get picked out of all the other projects to "move on." She didn't go farther on, but that okay!
She did great and we had a lot of fun together getting her project ready and cooking together!

twins?

Sometimes I wonder if these two should have been the twins?

Happy St Patricks Day!

We had a fun filled St. Patricks day!
The little leprechauns came to visit us that night.... they left little footprints on the counters...
( I know they only have 3 toes... must not have been thinking right on that one!)

They left coins in the kids shoes.... We forgot to get Sophie and Drew's shoes before they went to bed, so the leprechauns left them one on the side....
And those pesky leprechauns got out of the trap we set for them! Maybe we'll catch one next year!
Then we had a fun little treasure hunt that I set up for the kids....
They Found The Treasure!!! Candy and new green shirts for everyone to wear!
Happy St. Patty's Day! From our little leprechauns to yours!!

Daddy/ Daughter Night...

Last week, for activity days, Makenna had a daddy/ daughter night.
When she came home, she was all smiles!! She thought it was the best night to be able to spend some fun "one on one" time with her dad.
So when they got there they did this relay race. The dads had to paint the daughters fingernails and then the daughters put a tie on the dads, then the dads put a bow in the daughters hair, and finally the daughters had to draw a picture of the dads favorite sport.
Then they had ice cream sundaes where the dad got it for the daughter and the daughter got it for the dad.
After that they all filled out these card for each other... this is what each of them wrote:
" Matt is dad of the Year because.... I think my dad is awesome because... he's smart, he's caring, he's fun & so much more!!! I love him so much he's the best dad in the world!!! I LOVE him."
"Makenna is daughter of the Year because... she is a great, loving daughter and is an awesome example for me. She is not afraid to stand up for what is right. She will always go out of her way to help others and be a friend to anyone."
After they wrote them out, they got up and read them to all the other dad and daughters. Makenna then, was asked to bear her testimony. Matt said that she did really good.
Then, they danced!!! This was the funnest part for Makenna. She said that there was a slow song on and they were dancing together and then Matt started doing the tango with her!!
Everyone started laughing and then all the dad's were "tango-ing" with their daughters.
As you can tell, they had such a fun time with each other! I am glad that they were able to spend that time together... just the two of them!
At the activity, they had someone take pics of all the dads with their daughters!
What a cute little dad and daughter!!
