Makenna's Birthday party!

For Makenna's birthday party, she wanted a swim party and we were going to go to Matt's parents pool and swim there, but because of the weather and how cold and rainy it was yesterday, we turned to plan B which was we went to the So. Jordan Rec Center to their inside pool and went swimming!

It was fun, the water was warm and the girls had a blast together!

Then we came back to our house played a game, had pizza, and opened presents....

The group of girls after presents:

I made this cake for Makenna. My friend Amber made me the Makenna on a floaty, but I did the rest..... and I think it turned out really cute! I was really happy with it!

Blowing out the candle.....

And eating it..... YUMMY!!

It was lots of fun! I think Makenna had a great birthday and enjoyed all the time with her friends!!

Hoe Down, Throw Down!

On Thursday (Makenna's birthday) she performed the Hoe Down Throw Down at her school dance Festival.

It was a little chilly and windy but she was out there doing it in her cowgirl hat and new cowgirl boots that she got for her birthday!

It was really cute and she did a great job!

Makenna is 7!!

So something I don't understand, is how did my daughter's life got from this:

To this:

I really don't understand where the last 7 years went! I have been crying a little bit this week, because looking at old pictures and old videos of Makenna is really making me sad! It makes me sad to realize how time really does FLY by! I have been telling her this week that she needs to STOP growing and STOP getting older!! I want her to just stay where she is and stay where I can protect her and she can be MY LITTLE GIRL!!
So anyway, Makenna had her 7th birthday on Thurs. June 10th.
We started out the morning before Matt left for work by opening her presents from us.....
She got an "ipod" --more like a little mp3 player-- but she's 7 and she doesn't know the difference. She was so happy with it!
She also really wanted some cow girl boots, so she got those and as you can see in the picture at the first of this post, she looks SOOO cute in them!!

Hannah gave her some earrings:

And Alexa gave her some bracelets:

Then I made her a special birthday pancake with sprinkles and she ate it on the special Happy Birthday plate!! So Happy Birthday to my BEAUTIFUL, FUN, GOOFY, SPUNKY 7 year old!!

On Wednesday, Hannah was playing with her little friend Sienna. They got into the dress ups and pulled out the hula outfits we brought the girls back from Hawaii and were hula dancing around the playroom.... So Cute!!

Summer Dance Recital!

The girls had their Summer Dance Recital on Monday. They did such a good job! It did start to sprinkle a couple of times, but then it stopped and it was great!

I think my girls are so cute and such great dancers! Not to boast about them or anything, but hey I am the mom!!

Hannah danced to animal crackers. She was so cute, she knew the dance and danced it beautifully!!

Makenna danced to Little Red Riding Hood! Perfect for her since she is a Little Red Hood! HaHa!!....

At the very first of her dance, she was the one to start it off by jumping up and saying: "Are you afraid of the big, bad, wolf?"

She did so cute, she smiled the whole time, did her toe touches great! And she too danced it perfect!!

Sleepy Head

So Alexa is done taking naps, sad I know, but the other day she came to me and told me that she was tired and wanted to take a nap. So she heads up stairs, grabs her blanket and pillow and drags it back down the stairs.

The next thing I know, I look over and here she is laying on the floor in the family room.... tired as can be and out like a light!

What a cute, little, sleepy head!

Ants and Birds!

The other day, I was leaning down to spray some ants that we had by the grass in the front of the house and as I was leaning down to spray the ants.....

I felt a whoosh of air fly by my head and seriously felt something tap my head. Then I hear Hannah and Alexa scream and run into the house... as I looked up, I saw this white bird. Just hanging out on the edge of the house, just taking in easy relaxing.

I didn't want it to fly into the house so we went inside and just watched as the bird jumped down and walked over the the front door, just walking around like he wanted to come in to. It was actually really funny. He just stayed there for like 5 minutes, hanging out by the front door.

Memorial Day Weekend!

Over Memorial Day weekend, we went to the cabin with Matt's parents....
We really like going there, it is so nice and calm and not to mention the kids absolutely LOVE going there!

On Saturday morning we went into Ephraim and went to Scandinavian days
The girls got their faces painted....

Then there was this little pioneer area where they had pioneer games going on....

They had little games set up for kids, so Makenna did the rock climbing and Hannah and Alexa did the slide....

Then we went on a hike up Mable canyon....

And had sooo much fun riding the 4 wheeler....

And of course, we can't go to the cabin without having a fire and eating YUMMY Smores!!!

And to end it off, the girls helped Matt's mom paint....

We had a fun time and loved spending time at the cabin!
