Makenna came home from being off track and told us that they had a mini spelling bee in her class, and that the top 3 kids got to be in the school's 3rd grade spelling bee and she was one of the kids! I was really excited for her, she really is a good little speller.
So we studied her words for a week and then we went to the school to see her succeed. It was really cool how they did it. They had all the kids sit at a desk with a white board. All the kids were given the same word and had to write it down and show what they wrote. They each then got 3 strikes before getting out, until one person was left.
Well, she didn't win, she was the 8th out of like 18 kids. Her final word she got out on was beverage. She forgot the e after bev.... well she knows how to spell it now! I don't think she will ever forget that word!
We were so proud of her even though she didn't win. She did good and I am proud that she was even able to make it that far!!
