Last Saturday, Matt and I finally used some passes that we got from Christmas from Matt's parents, and went snowboarding at Snowbird. When we got there I was excited, but then Matt led us to a lift. When we were going up, it just kept going and kept going, and going, and I was asking why we were going on the longest lift, and he kept telling me to stop worrying. But it started to remind me a whole lot of the time we went snowboarding when we were dating, and he took me up on a hard trail, and I was hurting so bad from falling, that I took my snowboard off and walked down the hill. And ya, it starting to be just like that. The snow was really icy, and it felt like I was trying to go down on rocks. I kept falling and I was really hurting and I was ready to take off the snowboard and walk down.
But Matt kept telling me, to just keep going. So we went slow, and we would stop and take breaks, and let me rest, and then get up and keep going. About half way down, I started to get better and I was staying up longer, plus the snow wasn't as bad, half way down. So we finally got down and we went on a smaller lift, and I went down that one pretty good too.
So it took us 2 hours to go down 2 runs, and one of those runs was really short!! It was lunch time, so we went to the car, and ate our lunch that we packed. I was hurting and tired, so I told Matt that I thought I was done, and was just going to stay in the car and read, which I did.
Matt went back up on the slopes and went down the hard ones, and jumps, all his kind of things. He got 5 runs done, the long ones, in an hour and a half. He had fun, and I had fun reading.
Overall it was fun. I tried and didn't give up!! Yeah me!! And I got to have a couple hours to read, while Matt had fun, and didn't get held back!! Here's a couple pics, on the slopes!!

Visiting Papa Larry...
Last week, my mom called me and said that my Grandpa, Papa Larry, wasn't doing too well. So I decided to go visit him on Friday, with the girls. When we first got there, I could totally see what my mom was talking about. He was having trouble breathing, and was just sitting in his chair, looking exausted.
When he first saw us, I really thought he was going to act like the last time I went there, and not know us. But as soon as he saw the kids, he totally perked up. He acted like he knew who we were. He didn't know our names, but he knew we were his Grandchildren.
He was so happy to see us, the kids especially. He told me that he'd been praying that the kids would come visit him, and that this was the best thing that could have happened, having us come and see him. He was just so happy to see them. He kept telling us that he loved us, and even started singing his special song that he always sang to us as kids, "Papa loves his baby!"
Alexa was being funny, and making faces at him, and he was just laughing. Makenna was so sweet and just sat by Papa and held his hand, and Hannah just kept shutting the door to Papa's room (any surprise there?) He kept asking me what their names were, and how old they were. But I could just tell, that it totally made his day, to have the little kids there talking to him. It's like they gave him a little bit of hope in his life. Here's a picture of my Papa, with the girls!!

Makenna lost 2 teeth!!!
For the past little while, Makenna has had a loose tooth, and you could see a new tooth growing behind it. We wiggled it and played with it, but nothing has been happening. When we would look at the tooth, it just didn't look like it was being pushed out by the new tooth. So today, we went into the dentist to have him look at it, they took X-rays, and he agreed that it was going to take a while to get it out on its own, and he thought that the one next to it was having the same problem.
He said that he thought we should probably have him pull both of them out. So they numbed her and pulled out the two teeth. When he showed them to me, he said it was a good thing that we pulled them, because the roots on them were so long and they just weren't breaking on their own.
Now my 5 1/2 year old has now lost teeth!!! She is so excited, she has been wanting this for so long! So tonight the Tooth Fairy comes, and she is really excited about that as well!! Here are some pics!! Here are her teeth. The roots on them seem to be pretty long to me, is that normal?
My little tooth-less child!

Alexa's 18 mo. Dr. Visit
Alexa is actually 19 mo. now, but she just went in for her 18 mo. appointment. She is growing up so fast, and I can't believe how big she is now! She is in nursery, and I love it. She doesn't like it when she first goes in, but as soon as Matt or I leave, she stops crying, and has fun in there. At her "18 mo." checkup, she is weighing 20 lbs. 12 oz. and is 30.9 in. long. She is in the 5% for weight, and 25% for length. She is a little shorter so she doesn't look so thin, like Hannah always has. I just wanted to write a few things about Alexa at this stage in her life. She LOVES the word "NO" it is her favorite word and she goes around saying it about 10,000 times a day. She says it to everything!!! She also loves suckers. I have a bag of them in the pantry, and whenever the pantry is open, she runs to it, and pulls out not 1 or 2 suckers, but like 3 or 4 and walks around with them in her hand. She also loves to dance. Whenever there is music on she shakes her little hips, and bounces up and down. She sucks her thumb, just like her older sister Makenna, and it's the same thumb as well. Weird, huh! She'll probably suck it until she is 5, just like her sister. Also she is starting into her terrible two's, it doesn't happen very often, but she is definately starting to throw tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants, like when I won't let her have 5 suckers!! She is such a sweet little girl though, she still lets me hold her and cuddle with her. She'll put her head on my shoulder and just give me loves!! She is my little baby, and growing up so big!! We love her so much, and she is such a wonderful addition to our family!! I took some pictures of my cute little girl. The last two pictures are of her wanting a sucker, but I won't open the pantry for her to have one!!

Our Valentines Night
So I know this posting is a little late, but I just kept forgeting to do it. Anyway, our Valentines Day this year, was actually pretty fun. We didn't go out or do anything, we just stayed home as a family. We went to Papa Murphys and got one of their heart pizza's, then we came home, ate the pizza, and decorated cookies. We usually try to go out, but we didn't get a babysitter this year, and just decided to hang out together. It was a nice relaxing evening. Here are some of the pictures of our cookie decorating.

The Aquarium
Last night my mom and dad had the four oldest grandkids that live here in Utah, have a sleepover at their house. So Matthew, Olivia, Lily, and Makenna got to sleep over at GG and Papa's house. My mom said that they had fun and were pretty good, it just took some time to get the 3 girls to go to sleep. I can understand that, I had the 3 of them sleep over at my house before, and I think they just want to be girls, and stay up talking. Then in the morning my parents took them to the aquarium that is over in So. Jordan (I think that's where it is.) I have never been there, but it seems like they had a fun time looking at all the animals and getting to feel them. Makenna said that she had lots of fun. When my mom dropped them off, she said she was exhausted. Thanks for having the sleepover and the aquarium, mom. Makenna had lots of fun. Here are some pictures that my dad emailed over to me, of the kids at the aquarium. Peeking through a hole in a rock.
Makenna said that she was scared to touch the sting rayes.
The four kids. Olivia looks happy to be there.
The four of them looking at the sting rayes, with Matthew and Olivia touching them. Makenna kept telling me that it was okay to touch them, because their stingers were gone. Papa must have kept telling her that.
This is the kids looking at a snake. Mom why aren't you over there petting it?!!?

Our New Pet!!
We thought we would give this pet thing another shot. But we really aren't ready to do anything bigger than a fish, so here is our new pet, Tika the fish!! Makenna really didn't want to get another fish, she was wanting something that she can hold and play with, we let her hold the hamsters at the store, and she really wanted one, but I think that Matt is afraid that she'll get this HAMA thing I have, no not really, he just doesn't want one. I think we'll try to get a dog or something next year. My sister has this dog, it's a Labradoodle. It's like 80% Poodle and 20% Lab. It really is so cute and they don't shed at all!!! I really like her, and Makenna just loves her. The last time my sister was in town with their dog, Makenna asked me if we could borrow their dog and have her sleepover. I thought that was funny, it wasn't can Kaijsa sleep over, it was can we borrow the dog?!!!? So for now, here is our pet Tika! We love him, (her to Makenna) and someday, we'll get something that Makenna can play with and love.
